Protecting Quality: Maintenance as the Ultimate Luxury ✨
You have invested in Vercate clothing – pieces designed for durability, impeccable fit, and a low Cost Per Wear (CPW). The next step is just as crucial: proper maintenance. The way you treat your clothes is the only thing that determines whether the fabric retains its colour, softness, and shape for five months or five years.
It's time to debunk the myth that you can 'just' throw your clothes in the washing machine. Proper care is an art, but with this simple guide, you can effortlessly maintain the premium look of your Vercate collection.
🧺 The Four Golden Rules for Premium Fibres
Whether it's cotton, bamboo, or wool, these rules form the foundation for a long lifespan:
1. The Wash Cycle: Cold, Gentle, Low Spin
High temperatures and rough movements are the enemies of every quality fibre.
-
Temperature: Always wash at 30 degrees or lower. This is essential to prevent shrinkage and colour fading.
-
Spin Speed: Use a low spin speed, preferably a maximum of 400 rpm. High spin speeds wring the fabric, breaking the fibres of, for example, the Cashmere Blend and negating the non-iron properties of bamboo.
-
Inside Out: Turn all T-shirts, Polo Shirts, and Sweaters inside out. This protects the outer fibres and colour from friction with the drum.
2. Drying: The Tumble Dryer is Forbidden
The tumble dryer is the biggest cause of shrinkage, pilling, and wear.
-
Air Dry: Hang your garments immediately after washing. Use wide wooden or plastic hangers, especially for the heavier Half-zips, to prevent shoulder bumps.
-
Do Not Wring: Gently press out excess water (never wring!) and allow it to dry in a well-ventilated area.
3. Washing by Material: The Special Care
Although the basic rules apply, our premium materials require specific attention:
| Material | Example Product | Focus Point |
| Bamboo & Non-Iron Cotton | Bamboo Shirts | Follow the wash instructions: 30°C / 400 rpm. Carefully hanging to dry is sufficient to activate the non-iron effect. Ironing is almost never necessary. |
| Cashmere Blend | Cashmere Half-zips | Use a mild wool or delicate detergent. Wash as little as possible; often, airing after wearing is sufficient. Use a fabric shaver at the first signs of pilling to keep the fibres tight. |
| 4-Way Stretch Cotton | Polo Shirts & Trousers | Avoid fabric softener; this can degrade the stretch (Spandex/Elastane) over time. Cold washing is crucial to maintain elasticity. |
4. Storage: Prevent Distortion
The way you store your clothes is just as important as washing.
-
Fold Knitwear: Knitwear (sweaters, cardigans) should always be folded and stored on a shelf. Hanging can stretch the shoulders and permanently distort the shape due to weight.
-
Hang Shirts: Shirts and jackets should be hung on sturdy, shoulder-shaped hangers to maintain structure.
Summary: Quality is a Choice
By following these simple steps, you are investing not only in Vercate clothing but also in its lifespan. Every well-maintained item lowers the CPW and ensures your clothing looks just as luxurious and sharp five years from now as it did on the day of purchase.
Your appearance is always a reflection of the care you put into the details.
