How do you remove a yellow collar from a shirt? 3 effective methods

How to remove a yellow collar stain from a shirt?

A clean outfit starts with a crisp shirt. And nothing ruins that faster than yellow stains around the collar — usually caused by sweat, skin oils, and detergent buildup. 😓

Luckily, there are a few simple and effective ways to restore your shirt to its original freshness.

🧼 1️⃣ Vinegar + baking soda

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water to make a paste.

  • Apply to the collar and let it sit for 30 minutes.

  • Add a splash of white vinegar during the wash.

  • Result: cleaner, softer fabric.

🍋 2️⃣ Lemon juice + salt

  • Squeeze half a lemon and mix the juice with a little salt.

  • Rub onto the stain and leave it in direct sunlight.

  • Wash at 30–40°C as usual.

🧴 3️⃣ Stain remover + brush

  • Use an enzymatic stain remover made for sweat and body oils.

  • Gently scrub into the fabric with an old toothbrush.

  • Let sit for 15 minutes, then wash normally.
👉 Works great on a white shirt.

Prevention is better than cure

  • Wear a basic undershirt to absorb sweat.

  • Wash shirts at 30°C to prevent heat-set stains.

  • Hang shirts to air dry immediately after washing.

👉 Our basics are ideal as sweat-blocking undershirts.

Summary

A yellow collar can be annoying, but it’s easy to fix. Use vinegar, lemon, or stain remover — and prevent it in the future with smart layering. 💡
