How to Care for a Cashmere Sweater?

A cashmere sweater or cashmere zipper is an investment in luxury, comfort, and style. But how do you make sure your favorite knitwear stays just as soft, elegant, and beautiful for years to come? The secret lies in proper care.

👉 Discover the collection here: Cashmere Zippers.

Why cashmere needs special care 🌿

Cashmere is a delicate fiber, taken from the undercoat of the cashmere goat. It’s exceptionally soft and light, but also more sensitive than cotton or regular wool. With the right care, your cashmere sweater will remain a wardrobe essential for many years.

Tips for caring for cashmere 🔎

  1. Gentle washing

    • Always wash by hand or on a wool cycle.

    • Use a mild wool detergent – never fabric softener.

    • Lukewarm water is best – hot water can damage the fibers.

  2. Drying properly

    • Never use the dryer.

    • Gently press out excess water in a towel and dry flat.

    • Avoid direct sunlight or heaters.

  3. Removing pilling

    • Small wool balls (pilling) are normal with cashmere.

    • Use a cashmere comb or fabric shaver to smooth them out.

  4. Storing

    • Always fold your sweater, don’t hang it (to keep its shape).

    • For long-term storage: use a cotton bag and cedar wood to protect against moths.

Extra tip: rotate wear 👔

Don’t wear your cashmere sweater several days in a row. Let the fibers “rest” between wears to keep them in top condition.
